Duck Jazz Festival
October 8-9, 2022
The Town of Duck, who organizes the Duck Jazz Festival presented by PNC, announces the postponement of the event until October 8 & 9, 2022.
In consultation with health officials and our presenting sponsor in addition to new guidance by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) on events and festivals, organizers reviewed the health, safety, and logistical concerns related to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases. Under new guidance, the setup, flow, and reduced schedule able to be safely offered by the Duck Jazz Festival would not allow for the same interaction with community members and artists that are a hallmark of this event. Organizers have opted to postpone the festival in order to offer the best, and safest, event possible.
We understand how much those that live, work, and visit our community look forward to this annual event. Thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers that have continued to support us over the years and the attendees that have brought so much excitement to the Duck Town Park. We urge everyone to follow the guidance of your health officials so that we can safely celebrate the return of jazz to Duck in 2022.
The Town of Duck brings jazz to the Duck Town Park annually on Columbus Day weekend. This event is non-ticketed and free to the public. Food and drinks are available to purchase from town eateries and chairs are available for rent. Attendees may also bring food, coolers, chairs, blankets and well-behaved dogs. No beach umbrellas or tents are permitted at the event. The Duck Jazz Festival is held rain or shine. Each year we hope visitors extend their Outer Banks stay to enjoy jazz-themed events and promotions taking place throughout Duck businesses and beyond. Visit the Events Around Town page to learn more about jazz-themed events and celebrations at local businesses.
