Are you looking to know more about the Town of Duck? What Council does? What does the Community Development Department do? How is the Town budget created? Why do we have local government?
You’re in luck. The Town of Duck is pleased to offer an opportunity for you to learn the answers to all of those questions and more with the FLOCK Academy.
What is the FLOCK Academy?
The FLOCK Academy is a FREE, six- session course designed to provide key fundamental lessons of citizen knowledge for residents who want more insight on their local government in an engaging and interactive setting.
In each session, Department Directors will provide information about their respective departments and answer questions from students. Additionally, students will have the opportunity for activities, site visits, and field trips.
We are committed to fostering a sense of community and civic engagement among residents and as part of that commitment, this program is designed to provide residents with an in-depth look at the inner workings of our town government. Participants will learn about a variety of topics, including:
- The history and structure of town government
- The roles and responsibilities of elected officials and Town staff
