Voting

The 2023 Election day is Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

The polling location in Duck is:

Duck Town Hall, 1200 Duck Road

Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

To obtain a voter registration form or for additional information on voting in Dare County, please visit the Dare County Board of Elections Website.

To be eligible to vote in the 2023 Municipal Election, the voter must live in that municipality for at least 30 days before Election Day.

CURRENT STATUS: PHOTO ID REQUIRED – 2023 MUNICIPAL ELECTION

All registered voters will be allowed to vote with or without a photo ID card. When voting in person, you will be asked to present a valid photo ID card. If you do not have a valid photo ID card, you may obtain one from the Dare County Board of Elections through the end of the early voting period, which runs from October 19, 2023 through November 4, 2023. 

If you do not have a valid photo ID card on Election Day, you may still vote and have your vote counted by signing an affidavit of reasonable impediment as to why you have not presented a valid photo ID. Note: An inactive voter is still a registered voter. A voter with the status of inactive will be asked to confirm their physical and mailing addresses when they appear to vote. No special documentation is required.
