Don Kingston is now serving in his sixth term on the Duck Town Council, elected in 2009, and fifth term as the Mayor of Duck, first elected to that position in 2011. Don and his wife Sharon started visiting and vacationing in Duck in the late 1980’s, built their home in 2000 and became permanent residents in late 2007. Don earned a MBA degree from the University of Rochester Simon School, a BS degree in Business Administration and AAS degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Don also completed the Executive Development Program from Harvard University. His forty five year business career included twenty two years in senior management positions with Xerox Corporation, five years as a business owner and seven years in Regional management with two firms, Computer Task Group, Inc. and Robert Half International, Inc., both in the information technology systems development and staffing industry. The last eleven years he served as an Officer and Vice President of Kelly Services, Inc. He has been an active volunteer in the Town of Duck since moving here in 2007. He has also served as a member of the Town of Duck Planning Board appointed by the Town Council in early 2009. He was elected in 2017 to the North Carolina League of Municipalities Board of Directors representing the Cities and Towns in the twelve Northeastern Counties in District One.
