TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 6 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 149 business checks were made.
  • 5 extra patrol checks were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Larceny (Duck Road)

Manager of a store reported that three females were in the store and after they left, she noticed the deposit bag containing approximately $2000.00 missing from behind the counter. Officers arrived and gathered a description, then searched for the females without finding them. The next day the manager called back stating she found the deposit bag in the stock room, and nothing was missing.

  • Domestic (Scarborough Lane)

Cab driver reported after dropping off a fare that one of the male subjects in the cab threatened to commit suicide and was fighting with his father. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with all parties involved. It was determined that the subject was highly intoxicated and had no intentions of harming himself or others. There was no physical fighting, and the parties were separated for the night.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road

Vehicle traveling north on Duck Road was turning right into Barrier Island and struck a cyclist traveling south on the sidewalk. Vehicle had minor damage and the cyclist was believed to have minor injuries. The next day officers were advised that the cyclist was airlifted to Norfolk for serious injuries.
