  • Officers issued 6 traffic enforcement actions during the week.


  • 151 business checks were made.No unsecure doors were found.
  • Noextra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.      


  • Welfare check (Duck Road / Quail Way)

On March 6, 2023, officers received a report of an elderly female that looked like she needed help. The caller was not able to provide  additional details. Officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description.

  • Hit and Run (Duck Road)

On March 7, 2023, officers responded to a hit and run resulting in property damage. A contractor staying at a condo on the property was driving in a carless manner and struck a fence causing approximately $800.00 dollars in property damage. An employee witnessed the crash.  The driver was located and charged.

  • Mutual Aid (Hillcrest Drive)

On March 11, 2023, a Southern Shores police officer stopped a vehicle on suspicion of driving while impaired. The officer requested assistance from Duck Officers. Duck officers assisted with the investigation which resulted in the driver being arrested and the vehicle seized.

  • Suspicious Person (Duck Road / Four Seasons Lane)

On March 11, 2023, officers were notified of a suspicious male standing near the neighborhood entrance, hitch hiking. The caller stated the male looked out of place. Officers were unable to locate the individual.
