  • Officers issued 20 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 


  • 148 business checks were made.


  • Larceny (Georgetown Sands Road)

On June 27, 2022, officers responded in reference to a stolen bicycle. The caller stated that friends were staying in their condo on June 13, 2022 and took one of the bikes to the beach access. When they returned to the beach access the bike was gone.

  • Juvenile Call (Vireo Way)

On June 28, 2022, officers responded to after receiving a report of juveniles running around the neighborhood banging on doors and running off. Officers searched the neighborhood and beach but were unable to locate the suspects.

  • Civil Dispute (Duck Road)

On June 29, 2022, officers received a phone call from a beach patron stating she was accused of stealing toys from the beach. The caller stated the accuser approached her forcefully saying she took the children’s toys that were left on the beach overnight. The caller said she had similar toys to the ones taken. No police action was requested but the caller wanted the incident documented.

  • Suspicious Condition (Duck Road/Tides Drive)

On June 29, 2022, officers received a report of an older model red Dodge truck traveling south on Duck Road shooting an airsoft gun at pedestrians on the sidewalks. The caller stated the truck was driven by a male with no other description given. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

  • Larceny (Duck Road)

On June 29, 2022, officers responded to this location after receiving a report of a stolen Segway. An employee rode her Segway scooter to work and when she got off work discovered the scooter missing. A report was filed, and this incident is being investigated.

  • Larceny (Duck Landing Lane)

On June 30, 2022, officers were advised that two bikes had been taken from the beach access on this street. The victim stated two rental bikes were left there for approximately two hours while on the beach and when they returned the bikes were missing.

  • Mutual Aid (East Dogwood Trail)

On July 3, 2022, officers responded to assist Southern Shores Police Department with a Domestic Disturbance. The caller reported that her husband had been drinking and was physically abusive.


  • Duck Road/Cook Drive

On June 30, 2022, a vehicle stopped on Duck Road for pedestrians in the crosswalk. A second vehicle failed to stop and struck the rear of the first vehicle.

  • Duck Road/Ships Watch Drive

On July 3, 2022, an employee returned to her vehicle after work and discovered it had been hit in the parking lot. Unknown description of the vehicle that hit the parked vehicle.

  • Duck Road/Four Seasons Lane

On July 3, 2022, on Four Seasons Lane a delivery truck was backing into the driveway and struck a parked vehicle. Minimal damage was done, and drivers exchanged information.
