TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 28 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 145 business checks were made.
  • 1 extra patrol was requested by an out-of-town property owner this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Disturbance (Jay Crest Road)

On July 5, 2022, officers responded in reference to an argument between two tenants.  One tenant requested police remove the other tenant.  Both subjects were advised that only the homeowner could take that action.

  • Dispute (Duck Road)

On July 6, 2022, officers responded after the business terminated an employee following a road rage incident with the manager. 

  • Larceny (Ocean Way)

On July 7, 2022, officers responded to take a report for the larceny of tools from the job site, to include air hoses, a ladder, and extension cords. 

  • Disturbance (Seabreeze Drive)

On July 8, 2022, officers responded after receiving a report that an intoxicated male was berating other beach patrons as he was leaving the beach. Other members of the suspects group tried to defuse the situation by calming the suspect.  Once at his rental home, the suspect continued his intoxicated ire and continued to yell about various things.  Officers stood by while parties gathered their belongings and separated for the evening. 

  • Larceny (Pelican Way)

On July 8, 2022, a victim reported a planter stolen from the porch of the residence.

  • Domestic Dispute (Dianne Street)

On July 9, 2022, officers responded after receiving a report that a family dispute, which was exacerbated by alcohol consumption, escalated.  No physical assault occurred. The parties agreed to separate for the evening.

  • Found Person (Oyster Catcher Lane/Duck Road)

On July 10, 2022, officers reunited a lost person with his family after he went for a scooter ride and forgot what street he was staying on. 

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road/Christopher Drive

On July 9, 2022, a vehicle traveling in heavy southbound stop and go traffic, rear ended another vehicle.  No reported injuries.

  • Duck Road/Gannet Lane

On July 8, 2022, a vehicle traveling in heavy stop and go traffic, rear ended another vehicle.  No reported injuries.

  • Duck Road/Christopher Drive

On July 5, 2022, a vehicle traveling in heavy stop and go traffic, rear ended another vehicle.  No reported injuries.

  • Duck Road/Station Bay Drive

On July 4, 2022, a vehicle attempting to overtake a bicyclist traveling northbound on Duck Road, struck the bicyclist and knocked the bicyclist off the bike, causing injuries. 

  • Sprigtail Drive

On July 4, 2022, the dump mechanism on a trash truck struck an overhead power line.  The power line fell on an unoccupied van in a driveway.  No reported injuries.
