TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 15 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 118 business checks were made.No unsecured doors were found.
  • No extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Arrest (Duck Road)

On July 18, 2022, an officer responded to this business after management discovered an employee adding tips to credit card transactions.  The investigation revealed ten fraudulent transactions.   Gavin Fuller, 34 years of age, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with ten felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. 

  • Dispute (Duck Road)

On July 21, 2022, officers responded to this location after employees  reported a customer causing problems and refusing to leave.  Officers  escorted the subject from the business to resolve the incident.

  • Trespassing (Sound Sea Avenue)

On July 21, 2022, officers responded to this location after the homeowner reported a subject jumping the pool fence and using the pool, after seeing surveillance camera footage.  Officers responded and removed the subject.

  • Dispute (Duck Road)

On July 23, 2022, officers responded to this location after a customer reported being assaulted by an employee at the business.  The alleged assault occurred when the employee took merchandise out of the customer’s hand.  The responding officers were able to resolve the matter without further incident.

  • Trespassing (Duck Road)

On July 23, 2022, officers responded to this location after the realty company reporting a trespassing in progress after seeing several vehicles parked at the residence.  The responding officers found that the vehicles belonged to the new renters, who had parked at the residence and walked to the Village while waiting for check-in. 

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road / Scarborough Lane

Northbound traffic was stop and go and a southbound vehicle attempted to make a turn into the parking lot.  A northbound cyclist was traveling to the right of stopped traffic and struck the right front corner of the turning vehicle.  Minor injury reported.
