TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 3 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 139 business checks were made. 3 unsecured doors were found.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

• FRAUD (East Sea Hawk Drive)

A resident reported receiving a phone call from a female with an unknown accent. The female stated she was calling from a bank associated with the victim in regards to her card being compromised. After not receiving a new card she went to the bank to inquire and found that her account had been hacked and multiple charges had been withdrawn from her account. This remains under investigation.

• Harassing Phone Calls/Communicating Threats (Barrier Island Station)

An employee has been receiving threatening calls and text messages from a known person.

• Wanted Person ALPR Hit (Duck Road)

An officer stopped a vehicle after the license plate registered a hit on the ALPR. The car was a rental that had been previously entered in NCIC in another state when the suspect was driving it. The car was since returned to the rental company and re-rented. The entering agency was contacted and asked to remove the license plate from NCIC.

• Larceny (Duck Landing Lane)

Renters reported a delivery person removing money from a wallet when making a delivery at the house. The wallet was then tossed behind the door in the master bedroom. A suspect has been identified and the case remains open.

Traffic Crashes

• Parking lot Duck Road

Two vehicles collided in the parking lot. No injuries reported and there was minimal damage to either vehicle.
