TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 5 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

    • 139 business checks were made. 1 unsecured door was found.
    • 2 extra patrol checks were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Larceny (Baum Trail)

A male subject came in to the police department to report that their beach umbrella was missing from the beach near the home. The victim had left the umbrella out overnight. It was verified that the Town had not collected the abandoned umbrella.

  • Drug and Alcohol Violations (Duck Hunt Club Ln)

Officers responded to a report of loud music and yelling from the deck of a home late at night. Upon arrival officers discovered a party where illegal drugs and underage drinking where present. Contraband was seized, and several charges were filed.

  • Drowning (Sprigtail Dr)

An unconscious female was pulled from a pool by bystanders. The first arriving officers immediately rendered lifesaving aid to the victim, who was subsequently flown to a trauma center in North Carolina. Because of the swift and effective response of the officers and rescue personnel, the victim made a miraculous recovery and was able to return to Duck to enjoy the remainder of her visit.
