TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 18 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 127 business checks were made. 3 unsecured doors were found.
  • 8 extra patrol checks were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTERES

  • Injury to Property (Cook Drive)

Callers rear window in their vehicle was broken out. The damage was found to have been caused by roadwork in the area. The caller obtained information from the construction company to have the vehicle repaired.

  • Animal Bite (Dune Road)

Resident was bitten while attempting to break up a dog fight. Both dogs belonged to the person that was bitten. An Officer verified that the dog had a current rabies vaccination and animal control was notified.

  • Overdue Person (Bunting Lane)

Juvenile female was reported missing after she left for a walk on the beach and had not returned for over three hours. The female had a history of running away and the family was concerned she would not return. Officers located the female on the beach and transported her back to her residence.

  • Fraud (Duck Road)

A male and female walked out of Fishbones Restaurant without paying their bill. Officers were given a general description and first names of the individuals. Surveillance video from the restaurant has been reviewed.  Officers were unable to locate the suspects.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road

A vehicle struck a parked motorcycle while backing from a parking space. Minor damage was done to the motorcycle.

  •  Duck Road/Poteskeet Drive

 A minor vehicle collision occurred in the parking lot. Neither party contacted law enforcement at the time, and they exchanged information. One party called later that day to inform law enforcement of the collision.
