TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 15 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 144 business checks were made. 1 unsecured door was found.
  • 1 extra patrol checks were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Dispute (Carrol Dr)

Two large dogs being walked on Carrol Dr pulled away from their owners and attacked a smaller dog, knocking down a child in the process. The owner of the small dog was able to fight off the attacking larger dogs. No one was injured during the altercation.

  • Arrest (Duck Rd)

An intoxicated female subject caused a collision near Baum Trail. She was cited and released to Outer Banks Hospital for medical treatment.

Traffic Crashes

  • Duck Road / Baum Trail

An intoxicated driver caused a near head on collision when she crossed the center line and entered the opposing lane of travel. Injured parties were taking to The Outer Banks Hospital for medical treatment.

  • Duck Road / Georgetown Sands

As north bound traffic was slowing, a vehicle rear-ended another. No injuries were reported. Property damage only. One driver was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision.

  • Duck Road / Duck Road

A vehicle was pulling onto Duck Road to head south and hit another vehicle in the south bound lane. No injuries were reported. Property damage only. The driver was charged with failure to see before turning from a direct line so that such movement could be made safely.
