TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 19 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 147 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
  • No extra patrol check was requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTERES

  • Harassing text messages (W Sea Hawk Drive)

Victim reporting receiving obscene text messages from an unknown number.  Investigation revealed similar incidents reported in Florida and Illinois with similar messaging.

  • Larceny (Duck Hunt Club Lane)

Victim reported a rental beach cruiser bicycle stolen from the Four Seasons beach access.

  • Injury to Property (Duck Road)

Victim reported a large scratch on the left rear of his vehicle.  Victim believed the damage occurred while parked at a local business.

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Duck Road / Royal Tern Drive

Slow speed rear-end collision involving two vehicles.  No apparent injuries reported.

  • Duck Road

Hit and run involving a vehicle backing into a parked vehicle.  Striking vehicle identified by witnesses on scene.

  • Duck Road near Scarborough Lane

Southbound slow speed rear-end collision involving two vehicles.  One vehicle stopped for a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.  The second vehicle was unable to avoid striking the stopped vehicle.  No apparent injuries reported.

Northbound slow speed rear-end collision involving two vehicles.  One vehicle stopped for a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.  The second vehicle was unable to avoid striking the stopped vehicle.  No apparent injuries reported.
