TRAFFIC

  • Officers issued 13 traffic enforcement actions during the week.

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 148 business checks were made. 2 unsecured doors were found.
  • No extra patrol checks were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Runaway (Duck Road)

Officers received a report of a 10-year-old male that ran away from his rental unit.  The male was quickly located on the beach and reunited with his family members.

  • Injury to Property (Duck Road)

A local business reported a damaged rental golf cart.  It was undetermined if the damage occurred from the customer or after return to the business.

  • Larceny  (Vireo Way)

Subjects arrived at rental home prior to check in time.  They were allowed to only put food items in the residence while the unit was being cleaned.  After the cleaner left, the renters reported a purse missing.  Investigation revealed the purse was collected by the cleaner as she thought it was previously left personal property.  The purse was returned.  No crime occurred.

  • Assault (Speckle Trout)

A confrontation occurred between a father and son following a family gathering.  No charges at this time.

 

TRAFFIC CRASHES

  • Jay Crest Road

Caller reported exchanging information with a driver that backed into his parked car.

  • E Bias Lane/Duck Road

A southbound van crossed the centerline and sideswiped a northbound van.  The southbound van continued across the centerline and struck another SUV head on.  No apparent injuries.
