- Officers issued 5 traffic enforcement actions during the week.
- 118 business checks were made. No unsecured doors were found.
- No extra patrols were requested by out-of-town property owners this week.
INCIDENTS OF INTEREST
- Domestic Assault (Four Seasons Lane)
55-year-old Shrikant Parasuraman of Concord County, PA was arrested and charged with assault on a female. The victim sustained injuries to her head.
- Civil Dispute (Hatchcover Court)
A concrete contractor requested information about filing criminal charges against a customer who failed to pay for completed concrete work. The civil process was explained to the contractor.
- Hit and Run (Duck Road)
Officers responded to the NC Coast Restaurant parking lot for a hit and run with minor property damage. Witnesses reported that the driver of a gray Toyota Tacoma backed into a dark blue Dodge Ram. The suspect then exited the parking lot, but not before the witness was able to get a photo of the suspect’s license plate. Officers were able to locate the driver and the driver refused to provide their drivers license. The situation was explained and a citation for hit and run was left on their windshield, at the drivers request.
- Arrest (Duck Road/Ships Watch Drive)
Officers received a call for a careless and reckless driver driving erratically through town. Officers located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ships Watch Drive. The suspect, 64-year-old Teresa Ranney of Kill Devil Hills was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.
- Missing Person (N. Baum Trail)
Officers received a report of a missing adult female in the area of N Baum Trail. Duck Officers, and personnel from the Duck Fire Department and the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the search. The female was located safely on the beach in Corolla.
- Duck Road/Cook Drive
A vehicle was unable to stop before striking another vehicle resulting in a rear end collision. No injuries were reported.
