Are you interested in supporting a long-running community tradition from behind the scenes? Volunteers are needed for the 9th Annual Duck Jazz Festival on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Duck Town Park (1200 Duck Road). Please sign up online for an open shift at this link: Volunteer Signup. Shifts times vary and support the following areas: Parking, Band Area/Catering, Merchandise Sales, Concessions Sales, Gate Entrance Greeter, Grounds Crew, and Security. Volunteers will receive a free “staff” t-shirt and a lunch. A volunteer meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 7 at 9:30 a.m. in the Town Meeting Hall. We will briefly discuss volunteer roles, answer questions, and distribute t-shirts. If you cannot attend the meeting, please notify Beth Conery at email@example.com, who will coordinate a time for you to receive your t-shirt and discuss your volunteer role.
The 9th Annual Duck Jazz Festival has an impressive line-up of local, regional, and national musicians. The free, non-ticketed festival takes place annually the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend at the Duck Town Park. Gates open at 10:00 a.m. and the music begins at 11:00 a.m. The week leading up to the festival, enjoy jazz-related events at Duck Merchant Association businesses. On Friday, October 9, the Town of Duck will host free Yoga on the Green with Village Yoga at 9:00 a.m., and later that evening with Children @ Play, return for a Movie on the Green at 6:00 p.m. showing Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.
