Join us as we continue to celebrate the Town’s 10-Year Anniversary with a special free concert by the Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble. The concert is set for Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. on the Duck Town Green, 1200 Duck Road, Duck, North Carolina.
The Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble of the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band features the diverse talents of 15 professional musicians, including a vocalist. The band incorporates a wide repertoire of jazz and fusion, from big band swing to cutting-edge contemporary music, and is sure to appeal to audiences of all ages.
Formed in 1941, The USAF Heritage of America Band has a rich history of inspiring public patriotism and enhancing esprit de corps among all the United States military service branches. These world-class musicians come from Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia. Travelling more than 30,000 miles each year, Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble recently performed at the Berks Jazz Festival in Reading, Pennsylvania with special guest and Duck Jazz Festival Veteran Gerald Veasley, who has headlined, performed, co-hosted, and appeared at our annual Jazz Festival three times.
Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chair for events on the Town Green. Beach umbrellas and tents are not permitted with the Town Park. Smoking is prohibited at the Town Park and at all Town events and facilities. All Town events are subject to change, and may be cancelled, based on weather conditions or site/performer availability.
