Tuesday, July 3, 2012 – “Snakes Alive!” Interactive Theater and Toy Time.  Toy Time with Kitty Hawk Kites begins at 9:15 a.m. on the Duck Town Green.  “Snakes Alive!” presented by the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the Duck Amphitheater.  Gates are set to open at 9:30 a.m.  Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Wednesday, July 4, 2012 – Duck’s Eighth Annual 4th of July Parade at 9:00 a.m.  Come on out and join us for a Duck tradition as we celebrate the 4th of July!  The one-mile parade route is the same annually and begins at the crest of the hill on Scarborough Lane going towards the ocean, turns left onto Ocean Way, and then heads down Christopher Drive.  Please arrive early to get a good viewing spot on the Parade route.  Remember, NO PART OF THE PARADE IS ON DUCK ROAD (NC 12).  Parking in Town is at a premium, so please plan to walk or ride your bicycle and be in Town well in advance of the start time of 9:00 a.m.  A community social featuring music by Ruth Wyand and Friends, refreshments, and the awarding of Parade trophies will be held immediately following the Parade at the Duck Town Park, 1200 Duck Road.

Thursday, July 5, 2012 – Children’s Story Time at 10:00 a.m. in the Duck Amphitheater.  Bring the children for Story Time sponsored by the Town’s two bookstores: Duck’s Cottage and Island Bookstore.  Story Time is geared to children between the ages of 3 and 7.  Children attending must be accompanied by an adult.

Thursday, July 5, 2012 – Summer Music Series featuring The Fantastic Shakers at 6:00 p.m. at the Duck Town Green. With five lead vocalists and up to three horns, The Fantastic Shakers perform up-tempo dance to rock to beach music.  Bring your dancing shoes as this is sure to be a great time!

Remember to bring a blanket or lawn chairs for events on the Duck Town Green.  Beach umbrellas or tents are NOT permitted within the Duck Town Park.  All events are outside and free.  In the case of inclement weather or site unavailability, an activity may be cancelled.  Changes will be posted on the Town’s website and social media, as well as at the Town Park.
