The Town of Duck is celebrating the spirit of the holidays with a season-long Duck Business Holiday Window Decoration Contest, the Third Annual Duck Yuletide Celebration, and a Tapas Crawl & Extended Shopping Hours.
See the festive spirit radiating throughout Duck as we kick-off the Duck Business Holiday Window Decoration Contest on Friday, November 29, 2013. Visit participating businesses and vote for your favorite holiday window decorations and displays until the contest ends December 20 at noon. Turn in your ballot for a chance to win one of six drawings for a stocking of gift cards from participating businesses. Drawings will be held weekly and individual prizes are valued over $200. Click here to view the official ballot.
On Saturday, December 7, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., join us on the Town Green at 1200 Duck Road for the Third Annual Duck Yuletide Celebration. Enjoy an afternoon filled with holiday cheer and an opportunity to provide donations to local non-profit organizations. Sing along to some classic holiday tunes with Emme St. James & Her Jazz Gentlemen, witness an unforgettable special appearance by Santa Claus as he trades in his sleigh for an arrival on the Duck Fire Truck, and watch the lighting of the Crab Pot Tree. We invite the public to bring donations for Children & Youth Partnership, Food for Thought, and Outer Banks SPCA. Click here to see a list of items needed. Light refreshments and treats will be provided in exchange for your donations.
Immediately following the celebration, savor the festive spirit of Duck with a Tapas Crawl starting at 5:00 p.m. and stop by participating businesses as they extend their hours. A map and list of participating businesses can be found on the official ballot for the decoration contest available here, Town Hall and at businesses throughout Duck Village.
