Get in the holiday spirit with the Town of Duck at the 5th Annual Duck Yuletide Celebration. The celebration will take place on Saturday, December 5, 2015 on the Duck Town Green (1200 Duck Road) from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will feature live holiday tunes by Just Playn’ Dixieland, with a special appearance from First Flight High School Chorus carolers who will be making their rounds in Duck on Saturday afternoon. Don’t miss an unforgettable appearance by Santa Claus as he trades in his sleigh for an arrival on a Duck Fire Truck. Following tradition, the event will culminate in the lighting of the Town Crab Pot Tree. Enjoy warm treats and delicious sweets generously donated by Duck businesses. Attendees are asked to bring donations for the Outer Banks SPCA and Food for Thought who will be at the event. A list of items is available on our website. In the event of adverse weather, the celebration will be held inside the Town Meeting Hall.
Before heading to the Duck Yuletide Celebration, stroll around town for the Great Yuletide Elf Hunt organized by the Duck Merchants Association from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Pick up a “passport” and find the hidden elf at participating retailers, get a stamp/sticker, then turn in your passport at the Town Green between 3:30-4 p.m. (just before Santa’s arrival) to receive a fun gift. Adults have the chance to enter a raffle to win one of five gift baskets from Tommy’s Market (total value over $500).
