  • Officers issued 9 traffic enforcement actions during the week. 

PROPERTY CHECKS

  • 151 business checks were made.No unsecured doors were found.
  • 1 extra patrol was requested by an out-of-town property owner this week.      

INCIDENTS OF INTEREST

  • Suspicious Condition (Vivian Court)

On October 24, 2023, officers responded to this location after the homeowner observed, via remote security camera, an unknown person on the property wearing a reflective vest. Officers found the subject to be a subcontractor for Dominion Energy who was replacing the power meter. 

  • Suspicious Condition (East Sea Hawk Drive)

On October 24, 2023, officers responded to this location after the homeowner observed, via remote security camera, an unknown person on the property wearing a reflective vest. Officers found the subject to be a subcontractor for Dominion Energy who was replacing the power meter.

*Homeowners and visitors are reminded that Dominion Energy is currently upgrading all residential power meters in Duck.  The project is expected to be completed by December.

  • Domestic Dispute (Duck Road)

On October 24, 2023, officers responded to this location after staff reported a verbal dispute between a couple staying at the resort.  Staff provided the couple with separate accommodations for the night, but even after doing so, the couple continued to cause a disturbance.  After the second police response, resort staff requested that the couple be removed from the property.  Officers assisted the couple in finding separate accommodations elsewhere.

  • Suspicious Person (Duck Road)

On October 26, 2023, officers responded after staff reported that a suspicious male was in the restaurant. The subject asked for food and water, and a phone charger to charge his phone.  The subject left the restaurant on foot prior to the officer’s arrival.  Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the subject. 

  • Suspicious Condition (Scarborough Lane)

On October 28, 2023, officers responded after the homeowner reported a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway when the house was scheduled to be vacant.  Officers found a cleaner on scene that inadvertently went to the wrong property.
