On Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at 7:00 p.m., the Town Council of the Town of Duck will conduct a public hearing and consider the following Zoning Text Amendment and Special Exception applications:
Ord. 16-08 A proposal to amend the Town’s Zoning Ordinance by clarifying that the short-term (daily/weekly) rental of single-family residences is permitted in the Town of Duck by amending the list of uses permitted in residential zoning districts and the Permitted and Prohibited Use Table in Section 156.040 of the Zoning Ordinance.
SE 2016-003 Application for a special exception permit to stabilize the shoreline of the property at 1166 Duck Road through the addition of a significant amount of fill material supported by a soundfront bulkhead. Subsection 156.128(A)(4)(d) of the Town Code requires approval of a special exception permit for fill in excess of three feet (3’). The proposed project would add fill material eight feet (8’) in depth over an area approximately twenty feet (20’) into the Currituck Sound along the entire nearly 100-foot width of the western property line.
