Request for Proposals for Town of Duck Landscaping and Trail Maintenance

The Town of Duck, North Carolina, is seeking qualified contractors to provide landscaping and maintenance services related to the annual upkeep of the following four project areas:

  • Duck Trail & Multi-Use Path (5.0 miles)
  • Duck Town Park & Sound Side Boardwalk (5.2 acres and 0.9-mile boardwalk)
  • Duck Village Sidewalks (1.7 miles)
  • Duck Town Park and Sound Side Boardwalk Refuse Collection

In general, the contractor should have sufficient manpower, equipment and knowledge to provide the following services for all approximately five miles of the (1) Duck Trail, (2) the Duck Town Park plus 0.9 miles of the Duck Sound Side Boardwalk, (3) approximately 1.7 miles of the Village bicycle and pedestrian sidewalks and (4) Duck Town Park and Sound Side Boardwalk Refuse Collection.  Details outlining the services related to the annual upkeep of each of the four project areas within the Town of Duck may be obtained at the Town of Duck Administrative Office, 1200 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949, 252-255-1234 or downloaded at the Town’s website (https://www.townofduck.com/towngovernment/bids/).  Proposals may include 1, 2, 3, 4 or all project areas.  It is not necessary to bid on all four project areas.

The proposal period begins on January 23, 2023 and concludes with a bid opening on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 10 am at the Town of Duck Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall at 1200 Duck Road, Duck, NC 27949, at which time the bids will be publicly open and read.  Proposals may be submitted to the Town of Duck Administrative Office or mailed to P.O. Box 8369, Duck, NC 27949 prior to the bid opening. 

A pre-bid conference will be held at the Town of Duck Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall on February 7, 2023 at 3 p.m.  Attendance is not required but highly encouraged for those submitting a bid.  If you are unable to attend the pre-bid conference, you may email Sandy Cross at scross@townofduck.com with the subject “RFP Landscaping and Trail Maintenance” with questions and/or to obtain any addenda that may be issued.

Procedures for submitting a bid, claiming an error, withdrawal of bids and other pertinent information are contained in the Instructions to Bidders, which is part of the Invitation for Bids.  The Town of Duck reserves the right to reject any or all bids as allowed by the North Carolina General Statutes.
