The northern Town of Duck Park entrance, by the playground, is the watershed for all areas north, south and east of its entrance. Despite a small channel assisting with stormwater run-off this area is still prone to standing water. The Town of Duck has designed plans to create a stormwater wetland/rain garden to improve drainage and infiltration, attract native pollinators (such as birds, bees, and butterflies), and educate people about these natural systems. This plan has been put to bid and awarded to Emerald Forest, LLC. Emerald Forest intends to begin work on the project on Friday, April 23, 2021. Weather permitting, the project completion is expected within 3-5 working days. Due to the use of heavy equipment, please be alert for construction activity in the northern park area and parking lot.
