Pedestrian Plan Update- January 8, 2018

The recent winter storm resulted in a couple of lost working days for the construction crew, but Millstone Marine Construction is back on the job today, continuing its work on the retaining wall in front of the Roadside Bar & Grill.  It is anticipated that the work in front of Roadside will be completed by the end of the week, barring any further weather delays.  At that point, Millstone Marine will proceed southward to work on the retaining wall in front of the Loblolly Pines shopping center.

Barnhill Construction plans to continue its excavation work north of the BP/Coastal Cravings property on Monday, January 15th.  There may be a traffic lane shift in areas with heavy equipment work.  So, please be alert and drive slowly and safely through the construction area.

Barnhill Contracting completed its grading and site preparations in the southernmost portion of the project between Four Seasons and the crosswalk at Aqua Spa & Restaurant.  This section of the project will consist of an eight-foot (8’) wide shared use path extending the existing Duck Trail to the south.  This portion of the pathway is now ready for asphalt surfacing, which will need to be completed on a fair-weather day in January.  Barnhill Contracting is tentatively targeting the week of January 22nd for the paving.
