Pedestrian Plan Phase II Update- June 21, 2019

Over the past week, RPC Contracting has completed most of the items on its punch list to close-out the sidewalk project.  RPC plans to complete final grading of the swales by the Waterfront Shops/Stan White Realty early next week and have all bare areas covered with hydroseed to stabilize the slopes on Tuesday, June 25th.

Coinjock Farms received shipment of the landscape materials and began planting ornamental grasses along the sidewalk and bike lane on Thursday June 20th.  They have completed the portion of the project south of Duck Town Hall and will continue planting next week through the northern half of the project.  Coinjock Farms will also be adding several landscape beds at focal areas along the sidewalk.

The one remaining section of sidewalk, in front of the new restaurant at 1184 Duck Rd., will be installed by Mancuso Development as they complete construction.

As RPC Contracting and Coinjock Farms put their finishing touches on the project, small areas of the southbound travel lane may be closed at times with traffic directed into the middle lane. Please be alert for construction activity and drive slowly and safely as you travel through Duck Village.
