Operation Medicine Drop | March 22 – 27, 2021

In conjunction with National Poison Prevention Week, the Duck Police Department will host Operation Medicine Drop March 22 – 27, 2021. Staff will be available to accept items March 22 – 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

With this program, community members can safely dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medications. Over-the-counter and prescription pills, patches, and closed liquids are accepted, but no needles. Securing your medications and disposing of them safely protects our community and the environment. Bring your pills for disposal to the Duck Public Safety Building at 1259 Duck Road. Duck, NC 27949. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Operation Medicine Drop has disposed of more than 232 Million prescription and over-the-counter pills since 2010, saving countless lives as well as the environment. You can help your family and community by keeping unused or expired medications out of the wrong hands.
