Dare Soil & Water Conservation District’s Community Conservation Assistance Program

Applications are now open for the Dare Soil & Water Conservation District’s Community Conservation Assistance Program (CCAP).

CCAP is an incentive-based program designed to improve water quality through the installation of various best management practices (BMPs). BMPs include options such as marsh sills, riparian buffers, cisterns, rain gardens, permeable pavement, grassed swales and shoreline protection. The Town was a recipient of this grant to install the rain garden/stormwater wetland across from our playground.

Applications will be accepted until September 8, 2021, and are ranked based on local water quality priorities. If selected, landowners could receive financial assistance for up to 75 percent of the pre-established average cost of the BMP!
