The Dodge and Padre Islands have moved back to pumping at the Ocean Bay Blvd. subline. They anticipate working south for a few hundred feet. Once they are done with this area, they plan to relocate back to the Dianne St. subline and move north. At this time, the active construction zone for this area is between approximately Sea Tern Dr. and Carroll Dr. The area near Dianne St. has been re-opened. However, there is still equipment on the beach at this location. Please use caution and obey all signage.
The Liberty Island continues working south with the active construction zone now approximately 133 S. Snow Geese Dr. and 133 Spindrift Ln. GLDD are doing their very best to escort people on top of the constructed dune to the open beach whenever possible.
There will be a public meeting this Wednesday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall. Coastal Planning & Engineering and GLDD will present an update on the beach nourishment project. If you are unable to attend the meeting, a video recording will be available on the Town’s website and YouTube channel Thursday afternoon.
