Town of Duck introduces new Facebook Policy

The Town of Duck sponsors and maintains an official “Town of Duck” Facebook Fan Page. The purpose of the page is to inform “Fans” about pertinent Town information, events, public service announcements, emergency-related items, and other public affairs activities. All posts on the page are done by the Town Public Information Office. The “Town of Duck” Facebook Fan Page is monitored regularly and any comments added by “Fans” that do not fit with the Page’s purpose or are political in nature; use offensive or inappropriate language; specifically address Town Council or Board Members or Town employees; or need to be addressed individually, will be removed and appropriate follow-up will occur as necessary. Additionally, the majority of the posts to this page from the Town of Duck will link back to the Town’s Web site,, which is the official Town online communication tool.
