On Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 7:00 p.m., the Town Council of the Town of Duck will conduct public hearings to consider the following applications:
ZTA 14-001 – Application for a zoning text amendment by Mr. Michael Strader, P.E. of Quible & Associates, P.C., on behalf of FMC/NV Sanderling SPE, LLC, to amend the zoning ordinance of the Town of Duck, North Carolina pertaining to maximum building height in the C-2 General Commercial zoning district – Town Code Section 156.034 (D)(6). The proposed amendment would increase the maximum building height in the district from 35 feet to 45 feet for hotel buildings with roof pitches 5:12 or greater. Buildings will also be limited to three stories.
CUP-14-001 Application by Martin Barnette PLS of BILD Surveying on behalf of Andrew Meredith, property owner, to consider an amendment to a conditional use permit for redevelopment of a portion of the property located at 1448 Duck Road, PIN 99506388784. This project will include demolition, clearing and grading of several existing “out” buildings and construction of a 1,200 s.f. retail facility with a 600 s.f. accessory apartment on the second floor, installation of associated parking, utilities and other miscellaneous site improvements. This application request will be considered using the standards contained under Town Code Section 156.033 (C)(3) C-1 Neighborhood Commercial Development.
