The Town Council of the Town of Duck, North Carolina, will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at 7:00 pm at the Town of Duck Meeting Hall, 1200 Duck Road, to consider the establishment of two Municipal Service Districts (MSD A and MSD B below) related to the Town of Duck Beach Nourishment Project. As a result of this hearing, substantial changes may be made in the initial report, to reflect objections, debate, and discussion at the hearing. Any person desiring to be heard on any of the proposals as stated above or in the report should appear at the time and place specified above.

In preparation for this public hearing, a report has been prepared, which includes information on the proposed Town of Duck Beach Nourishment Project and Municipal Service Districts. Specifically, the report contains the following:
1. a map of the proposed district(s), showing its proposed boundaries;
2. a statement showing the proposed district(s) meet or meets the standards set out in §160A-537(a), that is, that the proposed district(s) need a service (beach erosion control and flood and hurricane protection works) to a demonstrably greater need than other areas of the Town; and,
3. a plan for providing in the district(s) one or more of the services listed in §160A-536; that is, beach erosion control and flood and hurricane protection works.
This report is available for inspection at the Town of Duck Administrative Offices, 1200 Duck Road, during normal operating hours (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and online here.
