The Town of Duck’s annual 4th of July parade and after-event is fast approaching. The Town of Duck’s Fourth of July Parade will be held on Monday, July 5 at 9:00 a.m., with an after-event immediately following at the Duck Town Park. PLEASE NOTE that this year’s parade is being held on MONDAY, JULY 5TH which is the designated legal holiday so as not to conflict with weekend summer traffic. The after-event will feature Ruth Wyand & Friends and the awarding of parade trophies.
All floats, community groups, subdivisions, business entries, moving vehicles, and groups of walkers are required to register to participate in our parade to be assigned a staging location. Parade applications, location/route, and guidelines can all be accessed and researched from the Town of Duck’s Web site, or by calling the Town of Duck office at (252) 255-1234. Also, additional information may be given and questions may be answered via e-mail at email@example.com.
The one-mile parade route is the same annually and begins at the corner of Duck Road (NC12) and Scarborough Lane. The route follows Scarborough Lane towards the ocean, turns left onto Ocean Way, and then heads down Christopher Drive ending back at Duck Road (NC12). If you are attending the parade, please arrive early so you can get a good spot on the parade route. Remember, NO PART OF THE PARADE IS ON DUCK ROAD (SR 12).
Immediately following the parade, the Town will be holding an after-event at the Duck Town Park, 1200 Duck Road. The celebration will feature live music by Ruth Wyand and friends, refreshments, and the awarding of trophies for the best parade entries.
