The Town of Duck invites the public to meet artist Brad Price and view his large format paintings during an opening reception on Saturday, November 11 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Duck Town Hall.
Born in Hampton Roads, Brad Price has called the Outer Banks home since 1991. Price began painting in 2007 when he was inspired to pick up a brush to combat the winter doldrums. At a painting workshop, Price discovered he had a talent and passion for this form of art. He quickly learned that painting was not just a winter hobby, but rather a vibrant and satisfying form of self-expression. His primary focus is on canine portraiture, and he has turned his talent into a successful business @B.PricePaintedPets. It was his aging Golden Retriever who served as his first model and he realized that the canvas was the perfect place to capture his love for his pet. To this day, the portrait of Isaac is still his favorite painting.
Price is also a talented chef and graduated from the Florida Culinary School of the Arts. He prepared exquisite meals at Elizabeth’s Cafe in Duck for 17 years as Executive Chef. Since the restaurant’s closing, Price has turned his full attention to painting and teaching painting workshops and classes, fulfilling his dream of sharing the arts with others at his studio, Hang 12 Art. You can find Brad Price on Facebook @Hang12Art and @B.PricePaintedPets, and on his website at Hang 12 Art.com
The Brad Price Paintings show will be on display Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. November 3 through January 26 in the first floor Conference Room at Duck Town Hall, 1200 Duck Road. The show will be closed on weekends and holidays. Rotating Art Shows change quarterly, feature local artists, and are coordinated by volunteers for the Town of Duck.
