Richmond, Virginia native Bobby Wiltshire is the founder and owner of Carousel Signs and Designs in Richmond, established in 1976. Upon his retirement in 2016 two of his children and his son-in-law inherited the business. Bobby’s early art included hand-lettering, pictorials, logos, and sign design. He discovered a love for watercolor years ago when his daughter presented him with a watercolor set for Christmas. Immediately he was hooked, and he began taking classes at the Hand Workshop in Richmond. His subjects consist mainly of rural scenes and scenes around the Outer Banks where he and his wide Janet moved in 2016.
Bobby’s work is on display at the Dare County Arts Council in Manteo, where he was recently awarded Best in Show at the Molly Fearing Memorial Art Show. He has won numerous awards both in North Carolina and Virginia. His work can also be seen at Silver Bonsai Gallery and Blu Coral Studio in Manteo. He has watercolor paintings in Blue Moon Restaurant in Nags Head.
