Photography by Eve Turek and Jeff Lewis Rotating Art Show
April 17 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 9:00am, repeating until April 24, 2019
Eve Turek moved from Northern Virginia to the Outer Banks in the mid-1970s. What began as a hobby after receiving her first camera many years ago, grew into a lifelong passion and, eventually, livelihood. In her words: “Photography centers me in awareness and in gratitude for all the gifts nature offers”. After holding jobs with Dare County and Colington Harbour she went on to finish college and obtain a master’s in environmental education. She and her husband now own Yellowhouse and SeaDragon Gallery, both located in Duck, NC. These galleries showcase local and American artists alongside her own work.
Jeff Lewis has been passionate about nature his entire life. Growing up in a military family, Jeff moved around a great deal but was fortunate to usually live near a creek or wooded area. He moved to the Outer Banks 30 years ago becoming a fisherman, horticulturist, and avid birder. “An important goal of mine is to use my images to increase public awareness, interest, and appreciation for nature.” His photography can be seen in wildlife kiosks and informational signage all over the Outer Banks, various publications, and on websites.
An opening Reception for this exhibit will be held in the First Floor Conference Room of the Duck Town Hall on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Come meet the artist and view their work.
