Outer Banks Shipwrecks: Maritime Archaeology Techniques
January 19, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Join us Saturday, January 19, 2019 as David Sybert, Education Specialist with the Coastal Studies Institute, presents “Outer Banks Shipwrecks: Maritime Archaeology Techniques” as part of the Bias Speaker Series in collaboration with the Town of Duck.
Outer Banks shipwrecks can be found in the depths of the Atlantic, our shallow sounds, and washed up along the shore. Maritime archaeologists study these artifacts of archaeological, historical, and cultural value. Learn about some of our local shipwrecks and the science behind their documentation.
A light reception will be served from 6:00 – 6:30 p.m.
The Bias Speaker Series is supported by the John H. & Frances Lane Bias Foundation, Inc. (The Bias Foundation), in collaboration with the Town of Duck. The series will offer presentations throughout the year by educators, scientists, and community leaders on a variety of topics. All events are free and open to the public.
