Proposed Ordinance 13-04 – Regulating Structures Within the Primary and Frontal Dunes

The Duck Town Council will hold a second public hearing Wednesday, July 17th, 2013 at 1 p.m at the Town of Duck Meeting Hall, 1200 Duck Road.  The public hearing will consider the following zoning ordinance amendment:

Ordinance 13-04 – Regulating Structures Within the Primary and Frontal Dunes
This ordinance would add Town Code Section 156.141 – Structures within the Primary and Frontal Dunes to the Town of Duck Code of Ordinances.  Regulations would be established to create a specific setback for oceanfront accessory structures (pools, decks, gazebos) from the first line of stable natural vegetation.  Also included are regulatory standards pertaining to the construction and placement of dune walkovers and oceanfront pools.
