Pedestrian Plan Update, October 26, 2017

The first week of the sidewalk construction in Duck is complete and we saw the removal of limited tree and vegetation in order to make way for the new sidewalk.

This coming week of October 30th you can expect to see the removal of several wooden retaining walls in the project area beginning at the south end of the Village and moving north to the end as utility conflicts will allow.  This phase is expected to be completed before the weeks end.  The contractor does anticipate the need to skip over a few walls while utilities are relocated.  Once the existing retaining walls have been removed, you can expect to see some surveying stakes being located so that the next phase of the project may begin.

For questions about these proposed pedestrian improvements, you can contact Director of Community Development Joe Heard at or Town Manager Chris Layton at or (252)255-1234.
