Town council to conduct Public Hearings on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at 7:00 p.m., the Town Council of the Town of Duck will conduct public hearings and consider the following applications:

SE-20-003            Application by property owners Gail L. Healy, Jennifer R. Tolson, and Suzanne E. Proctor for a special exception relating to the grading of a residential lot at 113 Bayberry Drive, PIN 985912866445,985916845329, including the following conditional uses: to allow fill approximately five feet (5’) feet in depth, exceeding the maximum of three feet (3’) of fill permitted in Subsection 156.128(A)(12)(a) of the Duck Town Code.

ORD-20-01          An Ordinance Containing Comprehensive Amendments to Chapter 150, Flood Damage Prevention

ORD-20-02          An Ordinance Amending the Definition of Building Height in Flood Zones

The Public Hearing will be held in the Paul F. Keller Meeting Hall located at 1200 Duck Road, Duck, NC and is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.  To continue to observe best practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while maintaining government services and transparency, the Town of Duck will enable stakeholders to view and participate in the May 6, 2020 Council meeting live through a web platform. Based on the guidance of local and state health officials, the public should not attend this meeting in person.

In order to view and participate during the meeting you’ll need to have access to an internet connection via computer or mobile device.  If you send your email address to scross@townofduck.com, we will send you a direct link invitation to the public hearing no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020.  If you wish to participate, make comments or present any physical evidence related to the public hearing, you must notify us prior to the meeting so we can obtain copies of your physical evidence for presentation and include you as a panelist for discussion.  The applicable link and instructions will also be posted at www.townofduck.com/town-council no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. Instructions for submitting a public comment during the public hearings will be provided along with viewing instructions. Comments will be submitted via chat and read into the record.
