Third Annual Duck Yuletide Celebration

Our thanks to the participants who shared donations with our three partner organizations, food and treats from Duck Donuts, Fishbones, and Sweet T’s, The Waterfront Shops for providing transportation Saturday during the Tapas Crawl, and carolers from First Flight High School’s music program for singing throughout Duck Saturday evening.

The Town of Duck, in cooperation with the local business community, is hosting the third annual Duck Yuletide Celebration.  Join us on Saturday, December 7, 2013, for a Town-wide celebration of Yuletide cheer! 

Emme St. James & Her Jazz Gentlemen

On Saturday, December 7, 2013, the Town of Duck will hold its 3rd Annual Yuletide Celebration on the Duck Town Green, 1200 Duck Road, beginning at 3:00 p.m.  Duck Jazz Festival veterans Emme St. James & Her Jazz Gentlemen will return to Duck to perform hits from their  holiday CD, “I’d Like You For Christmas”.

SantaChildSanta Claus will make a special appearance as he trades in his sleigh for an  unforgettable arrival on a Duck Fire Truck.  The event will culminate in the lighting of the Town Crab Pot Tree.  An art exhibit featuring the works of Duck resident and photographer, Steve Alterman, will be on display in the Duck Town Hall Conference Room during the Celebration. SantaDog

    • Infant to toddler range, young children’s books to be used as part of literacy programs

      • Bubbles
    • Infant and pre-school toys for use in their lending library available for local families

 Possible Food for Thought Donations:

    • Juice Boxes
    • Individual serving sizes of fruit cups, apple sauce, oatmeal
    • Pudding cups
    • Canned tuna and chicken
    • Monetary donations are accepted to be used toward purchases of reduced cost food

WaterfrontHorse Following the Celebration on the Green, restaurants and businesses throughout Duck will keep
the Duck Yuletide Celebration going throughout the day and into the evening on
Saturday, December 7, 2013 with special promotions, holiday music, and refreshments. Thanks to the Waterfront Shops, a free trolley will make stops throughout the Village from 5 to 9 p.m. for a fun and scenic way to travel to participants in the tapas crawl, extended shopping hours, and to vote for your favorite holiday windows. 

Get in the holiday spirit this season by strolling through Duck Village, taking in the sights, and be entered to win Duck Business Gift Cards by voting for your favorite windows in the Duck Business Holiday Window Decoration Contest.  Businesses will have ballots available listing all windows entered in the contest.  Window categories include: Best Whimsical, Best Traditional, Best All-Around.  Drawings will be held weekly, so the earlier you start, the more chances you will have!  Participating businesses will collect ballots and drawings for gift cards will be held weekly. Visitors to Duck are encouraged to vote, drawings will be held weekly.  Winning windows will be announced on the Town of Duck Website and Facebook a week prior to Christmas.  The Business specials and Holiday lights make this a perfect time to do your holiday shopping in Duck!
