Town of Duck Seeks to Fill Planning Board Member Seat
Application Deadline: August 31, 2015
The Town of Duck is seeking a new member on the Duck Planning Board to fulfill an unexpired term that ends May 1, 2016, after which the member may apply for reappointment to a full 3-year term.
The Planning Board is a five-member board that advises the Town Council on many aspects of the community’s character and development standards including planning, zoning, land subdivision, development review, and other related issues. The Planning Board generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Meeting Hall located at 1200 Duck Road. Other meetings may be called as necessary to address certain issues in a timely manner. Applicants for the Planning Board must be real property owners within the Town of Duck, but do not have to reside in Duck.
Applications are requested by August 31, 2015 for consideration by the Duck Town Council. Applications are available at Duck Town Hall, 1200 Duck Road or may be obtained by clicking here. There are numerous ways which you can volunteer and assist the Town of Duck. These include serving on a board, committee, helping with a special event, or assisting with administrative activities. Boards: There are two boards that individuals can serve on:
Planning Board – Members must be real property owners within the Town and do not have to be Town residents. For information on the Planning Board, click here.
Board of Adjustment – Members must be real property owners within the Town and do not have to be Town residents. For information on the Board of Adjustment, click here.
Advisory Committees: These committees are established by the Town Council as needed and are appointed based upon each committee’s needs. There are no residency or property ownership requirements to serve on these committees.

Event and Office Volunteers: There are numerous opportunities available to assist with Town events and functions. There are no residency or property ownership requirements to volunteer in any of these capacities. There may be training requirements associated with these positions.
