Nancy is proudly serving her 3rd term as Duck Council Member. Nancy holds a Master of Science in Community Health Education and enjoyed a diverse professional career in both academia and the non-profit sector before relocating to Duck in 1995. Nancy’s community involvement also includes being a Firefighter for the Duck Volunteer Fire Department, serving on the Hotline Board of Directors, previous membership on Duck's CAMA Land Use Plan Committee, Duck’s First Town Council, and Taskforce for Incorporation. Nancy has directed the "Annual Advice 5K Turkey Trot" for 12 years and on her own accumulates more miles running than driving. Her future goals include increased involvement in local and regional health initiatives, policy development, and has just been accepted into UNC's School of Public Health "Public Health Leadership Certificate" program, an online course of study which she plans to complete by May 2009.

Neil, and his wife Lee, vacationed here for many years and became permanent residents in January 2000 when they purchased their home in Sanderling. Neil is a graduate of Virginia Tech, where he majored in Biology and was elected president of his student body. He served two years as a Lieutenant, US Army, and four years as a Special Agent of the Office of Naval Intelligence. He was an Investment Consultant with New York Stock Exchange member firms for 31 years, and after his retirement, became an Arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. Neil is a member of the Duck United Methodist Church. He was a member of Duck's first Planning Board and has served as a Council Member since December 2002. He was Chairman of the Dare County Tourism Board in 2006 and is currently the Mayor of Duck.

A resident of Duck since 1997, Bart has a BA from The University of Tennessee. Since 1999, he and his wife Robyn have been owners of The UPS Store franchise on the Outer Banks and currently operate two stores. Bart actively served in the Duck Civic Association for four years and was president of the association during the successful effort to incorporate Duck. He actively serves as a lieutenant in the Duck Volunteer Fire Department and is a member of the Duck United Methodist Church.

Monica has served as a Council Member since December 2002. A vacationer to the Outer Banks since the early 70s, Monica has been a permanent resident of Duck for 18 years and has raised her family here. Monica has a BA from Boston College and an MBA from Northeastern University. Since 1991, Monica and her husband Art have been the managing owners of Carolina Designs Realty, Inc. She has been a volunteer in many community projects and is currently the Town Council liason for the Duck Community and Business alliance.

Dave Wessel earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and Education from Rutgers University, a Masters in Business Administration from Duke, and has done additional post-graduate study at George Mason University in addition to earning professional certifications as a Quality Manager and Project Management Professional. Dave moved to Duck with his wife, Polly, in 1999 and quickly became involved in the Duck Civic Association, Duck incorporation effort, Duck United Methodist Church and the Tuckahoe Homeowners Association. Over the course of his professional career, Dave has been a successful sales/marketing manager, management consultant, founder of his own training company, as well as quality manager and training director at a national non-profit organization. He is currently serving as Vice President for Corporate and Continuing Education at College of The Albemarle.
