RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DUCK, NORTH CAROLINA, ADDRESSING ISSUES RELATED TO THE VILLAGE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM AND THE COMMUNITY APPEARANCE
AWARDS PROGRAM
Resolution #05-04
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Duck has enacted new regulations related to the aesthetics of the Town’s commercial areas; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to provide a positive incentive to encourage compliance with these new regulations; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council has previously approved the concept of a Village Improvement Program to provide financial assistance to businesses and community organizations to meet regulations and a Community Appearance Awards Program to recognize businesses and community organizations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DUCK, NORTH CAROLINA, THIS 2nd DAY OF FEBRUARY, 2005, that there is hereby established a Community Improvement Committee; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Community Improvement Committee shall consist of three individuals who shall serve a two year term, unless removed by action of the Town Council. The Committee shall appoint a chairperson and may establish additional officers as required; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee shall establish a regular meeting time at an interval deemed necessary to complete their work in a timely manner. The Committee shall regularly report to the Town Manager and the Town Council and shall be assisted by Town staff as required; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee shall be responsible for developing, recommending and implementing program details for both the Village Improvement Program and the Community Appearance Awards Program, subject to any required approvals of the Town Council; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Committee shall be tasked with providing final program details to the Town Council on the Village Improvement Program and the Community Appearance Awards Program, including recommended funding levels for the remainder of FY2005.
