Below are links (in PDF format) to the Town of Duck's various building permit forms and necessary attachments. Application for new construction, additions, remodels, pools, hot tubs, decks, etc.

Application to move a house, into, out of and within the Town of Duck

Application for individual, licensed trade work; i.e. electrical meter change-out/upgrade, HVAC replacement, plumbing or gas replacement. Work to be performed as subcontractor - see trade release forms below.

Application for any man-made disturbance in a floodplain (required with submission of all Building Permit Applications if the property is located within a flood zone)

New development requires planning for vegetation. A vegetation management plan showing what vegetation is to be retained on the lot and what is to be replanted must be provided prior to approval of a building permit or land disturbance permit.

Property Owner acknowledgement that the Town of Duck does not enforce restrictive covenants (required with submission of all Building Permit Applications)

Affidavit of Workers' Compensation Coverage (required from the Agent or General Contractor with submission of all Building Permit Applications)

Owner Authorization for projects with construction cost of $30,000 or less (required from Owner and Agent with submission of Building Permit Application)

Property Owner certification for nonrental parking deferral; allows for the deferral of parking spaces provided the property is not in a rental program, and provided a survey is submitted showing the parking requirements can be met if the property converts to a rental or is sold. This certification and approved survey must be filed with the Register of Deeds.

Application for authorization of temporary electrical connection prior to issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy (several requirements must be met and an inspection performed prior to release of power)

Appendix B - Building Code Summary for All Commercial Projects. This form is required to be completed and submitted either on the building plans or separately with any permit application involving commercial projects

V zone Certification. This form is required for all development that occurs in High Velocity (v) Flood Zones. This form needs to be completed by a licensed North Carolina engineer or architect.
