NOTICE

The Town of Duck Planning Board will review the following applications on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

CUP-12-01      (Resubmittal) Application by Chris Nason of Beacon Architecture + Design, PLLC, on behalf of Forlano Properties, LLC, property owner, to consider a conditional use permit for a 44-seat restaurant to be located at 1221 and 1223 Duck Road, the site of the Duck Deli.  The applicant intends to remove the existing restaurant at 1223 Duck Road and the residence at 1221 Duck Road and combine the lots for the purpose of utilizing both properties for the new restaurant building and site improvements.  This application request will be considered using the standards contained under Town Code Section 156.036 (C)(6) Village Commercial Development Option.

CUP-12-02      Application by Scott Foster of Coastal Cravings to consider a conditional use permit amendment for the existing 40-seat restaurant located at 1211 Duck Road.  The applicant intends to establish an outdoor dining area in accordance with Town Code Section 156.129, Eating Establishments, as well as reconfigure the interior space of the eating establishment.

The Town Council of the Town of Duck is expected to conduct a Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. to receive comments on these applications, following the Planning Board’s recommendation.

NOTICE

The Town of Duck, North Carolina, is seeking qualified contractors to provide construction services for activities related to the Southern Extension of the Duck Soundside Boardwalk.  The project area is 1200 Duck Road (Duck Town Park), Duck, North Carolina, south to 1186 Duck Road (Wings), Duck, North Carolina. The project includes all materials, labor and equipment for the following: preparation of the site for construction, to include limited vegetation removal and demolition of specified existing structures within the proposed boardwalk alignment; construction of boardwalk sections over the Currituck Sound; and construction of boardwalk sections over wetland and upland areas. 

Bid packages may be picked up at the Town of Duck Administrative Offices located at 1200 Duck Road, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or online at by clicking here.   Bids will be due at the Duck Administrative Offices no later than 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012.  Questions related to this project should be directed towards Andy Garman, Director of Community Development, (252) 255-1234 or agarman@townofduck.com.  The Town encourages bid proposals from businesses included on the State of North Carolina’s list of certified Historically Underutilized Businesses. The Town also encourages the use of subcontractors included on this list.
