INFORMATION REGARDING THE USE OF PERSONAL WATERCRAFT IN THE TOWN OF DUCK

Personal Watercraft:

In the Currituck Sound: Personal watercraft may be used in the Currituck Sound between 9 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. and must be at least 900 feet from the shore. Please obey all right-of-way, speed limit, and other rules while enjoying your time on the sound. There are no public sound launch points within the Town of Duck for motorized personal watercraft.

In the Atlantic Ocean: The landing and launching of personal watercraft is prohibited on the Town's beaches.

Sound Access: The only public sound access within The Town of Duck is at our Town Park. A kayak/canoe launch is available for the launching of kayaks and canoes and should only be used for this purpose. It is not to be used to enter the Currituck Sound for any other purpose or to dock any motorized vehicles.

There is no other public sound access within the Town limits. A few of the watersports shops along the sound have private access and rent numerous types of non-motorized and motorized vehicles in which to enjoy the Currituck sound.

Beach Access: There is no public beach access within the Town of Duck. Access to our Town beaches is limited to residents, renters, and their guests.
