Change Smoke Detector Batteries on Daylight Savings Nov. 3

Duck Fire reminds you to replace your smoke detector batteries at least twice yearly.  A good rule of thumb is to replace them to coincide with changes in daylight savings time (i.e., in the spring and in the fall).  This weekend time will “fall back” one hour when Daylight Savings ends at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 3.   Test your smoke detector for proper operation frequently.

Note, Daylight Savings Time will start again at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2014.
