Beach Erosion Phase I Study Results to be Presented on August 15, 2012

On Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Duck Meeting Hall, 1200 Duck Road, Coastal Planning and Engineering (CP&E), the consulting firm hired by the Town to study the issue of beach erosion, will present the results of the first phase of its study to the Duck Town Council.

Coastal Planning and Engineering was hired by the Town last winter and was tasked with examining data on beach erosion within the Town of Duck.  Specifically, CP&E is conducting a two phase study, with the first phase consisting of data gathering, analysis, and modelling to predict future impacts of erosion on the Town; and the second phase consisting of the development of alternatives to deal with the erosion, including a do-nothing approach.

The presentation on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 will focus on the first phase: data gathering, analysis, and modelling.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend this presentation.
